Types of therapeutic massage available:
Structural
Structural starts with a postural analysis, which allows
me to evaluate the patient's body. Following the evaluation
and patient's input, I will determine a treatment plan
to alleviate the patient's pain and structural imbalances.
Structural bodywork involves very slow and deep strokes
that allow for lengthening of tissue. After a couple
of appointments you will be feeling and seeing the benefits.
Injury
Unfortunately, in everyday life we occasionally experience
injuries to our bodies, whether it's a pulled muscle
from that pick up game of basketball, or an injury due
to a car accident. Injury bodywork has specific treatments
based on the client's injury/dysfunction ranging from
whiplash to a total knee replacement. The goal of injury
bodywork is to help speed up the body's recovery time
and ultimately become pain free.
Deep Tissue
Bodywork that reaches deep into muscle by using a slower,
deeper stroke focused where the patient needs it. Deep
tissue is great in alleviating painful muscles and increases
range of motion. It is good for all types of athletes
and everyone that has a sore body.
Trigger Point
A trigger point is that irritating, tender and sore
knot on your back, for example, that shoots pain up
your neck when you touch it. Trigger points can cause
pain and decreases range of motion, which can interfere
with day to day activities. Trigger point therapy releases
trigger points through a series of strokes, pressures
and stretchees and has an immediate feeling of release
after the appointment. This type of bodywork is great
for everyone.
Swedish
Intended for relaxing and reducing the stresses of the
body by applying long, light strokes that sooth the
body. It is good for increasing circulation of blood
and lymph and increasing the overall well-being of the
patient.
